Joel capped off the FIA F3 European Championship weekend at Norisring with seventh place in the final race of the meeting.
From tenth on the grid, Joel made steady progress as he overtook Nikita Mazepin, Guan Yu Zhou, and Ferdinand Habsburg in succession.
He put pressure on Motopark team-mate David Beckmann in the last half of the race, but the German put up a stern defence and Joel remained seventh across the line.
The race saw Jehan Daruvala score his first-ever F3 win.
“The car felt a lot better in this race. The team did a good job on the set-up and I think I did the third quickest lap of the race, so that’s encouraging. I even think a podium could have been on the cards if I’d not lost so much time behind some people. A difficult weekend overall, but at least this final race was decent.“
